Cinderella

ACTIVITY 1: SUMMARY

Cinderella was  the daughter of a wealthy merchant, but when his father died,  her evil stepmother and  her two daughters have raised Cinderella.
One day there was a party at the castle but Cinderella could not go  because she had to clean the house  and didn't have a nice dress to wear at the party.
Her Fairy Godmother appeared and cleaned the whole  house and gave Cinderella a beautiful  dress, but she could only use it up to midnight.
The prince fell in love with Cinderella ,and when  she was back home she
dropped  one  of her  shoes. Wanting to find her, the prince ordered  that  all the girls in the kingdom  tried on the shoe. When Cinderella put the shoe and it fit right.
The girl and prince got married and lived happily ever after.

ACTIVITY 2

We would be friends with Cinderella because she is friendly, a nice girl and kind. And also because she seems to be cool, besides she suffers a lot. The character we have less in common with is selfish and cruel - the step-mother. She has these traits and we wouldn't be friends with her.

ACTIVITY 3

The message behind the fairy tale is that the   goodines  always  wins  the evil  and there isn’t social barriers for love. This is justified because the step-mother trying  to stop her to do the things for example, she, couldn’t  go to a party  and couldn’t  try the shoes . In  the end, they stayed together forever.

ACTIVITY 4

ACTIVITY 5

Key Words: SHOES, PUMPKIN, MARRIAGE.

ACTIVITY 6

We relate this news about the exploitation of children’s work at home with the fairy tale in which the main character (Cinderella) is exploited by her stepmother and stepsisters.
She takes care of the house, clothes and food in exchange of a roof over her head. In addition to this her stepmother deprived her from many things, such as going to the party that was happening in the royal castle!
In the tale, Cinderella was lucky enough to "win" a fairy godmother to solve many of her problems. However, in real life is quite different and a large proportion of girls in this situation needs to prostitute themselves to get some food and a place to live.

ACTIVITY 7

(TALE READ: The princess and the pea)
We agree with what the other group said because we believe in ourselves first and then we believe in the other. We do not need to lie to ourselves and we have to be real.

ACTIVITY 8

We agree with the article that the other group chose that is a story that talks about how people see each other depending on their clothes!
Our generation has a very old racial and meaningless prejudice in relation to black people. Most people associates inferior work to black people and better paid jobs for white people.
